God’s View of LIFE

A study in the Sermon on the Mount

Have you ever wondered how God looks at things? That is, have you considered how God sees the world we live in and the very many issues that we face in life? Well, we can gain a clear understanding of God’s perspective on life through Jesus’ teaching in what has become known as the Sermon on the Mount. This monumental sermon given to a crowd gathered on a hill on the northwest shore of the Sea of Galilee some 2,000 years ago is the most profound and transformational teaching recorded in the New Testament on God’s view and instruction for holy living. The Sermon on the Mount contains God’s definitive teaching on everything from dealing with such personal struggles as anger, lust and greed to achieving spiritual ideals in such disciplines as prayer, fasting and forgiveness. Over the course of the next few months as we study this famous sermon together, we will be confronted with real life issues such as deception, revenge and anxiety and be challenged with God’s expectations for our personal relationships, our lifestyle choices and our spiritual practices. Come along with us this spring as we study together and seek to apply God’s elevated perspective and practical instruction to life!
