Women’s Retreat

Women, we invite you to join us for a weekend of focused teaching and fellowship up north in Prescott! We look forward to growing as women of God, not only through the sessions taught by our guest speaker, but through time spent together over meals, in our cabins, during discussion times, and doing activities. There are lots of things to do at Emmanuel Pines during free time, whether you’re exploring nature trails or trying out the ropes course. The schedule will also allow time for you to pursue quiet time for prayer or reading.

Our guest speaker is Martha Peace, who is a biblical counselor to women. She has been certified by the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors for over 31 years and is a volunteer counselor at her church in Georgia. Martha has written several books including The Excellent Wife, Attitudes of a Transformed Heart, Precious Truths in Practice, and Biblical Counseling in Practice. She has been married to her high school sweetheart, Sanford, for 54 years. They have two children, twelve grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

Frequently Asked Questions

When should I arrive on Friday?

Check-in will be from 4-6:45 pm. Dinner will not be provided at Emmanuel Pines, so please eat before you arrive or check in early and then head back to Prescott to grab dinner! The first session begins at 7 pm.

Stay tuned for a full schedule!

Will the church arrange carpooling?

We will not arrange carpooling; you will be responsible for your own transportation to and from the Retreat. However, as we get closer to the Retreat, we will email out a list with the names and phone numbers of everyone registered so you can contact other ladies to discuss carpooling.

What are the sleeping accommodations like?

We will be staying in dorm-style lodge buildings. Each room will sleep 3-4 women in bunk beds (typically they sleep 6-8), and there are shared restrooms and showers down the hall.

If you’re willing to pay extra for more comfortable accommodations, we have a limited number of cabins available. These cabins each have 1-2 bathrooms and typically sleep 4-6 women. If you’d like to upgrade for an additional $40, please select the upgrade option on the form.

Will I get to pick who I share a room with?

We will assign rooms before the Retreat, but you can request up to three women you would like to share a room with! We will do our best to accommodate your requests.

Is registration open to girls as well as women?

This Retreat is designed for women ages 18 and older. We especially want moms to be able to come and engage in fellowship and the sessions without having to simultaneously parent their daughters!

I want to come, but I’m not sure my baby is ready to spend a weekend away from me. Can I bring them?

If you have a baby who is still nursing, you are welcome to bring them with you! When you fill out the form, just let us know that you plan to bring a nursing baby. We will take that into consideration when we assign rooms.

Will Emmanuel Pines be able to accommodate my food allergies and/or dietary restrictions?

Emmanuel Pines is prepared to accommodate vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free diets. If you have additional food allergies and/or dietary restrictions, please indicate those details on the registration form. You may also consider calling the camp at 928.445.1509 to discuss what they are able to accommodate. The meeting room, lodges, and cabins have refrigerators if you need to bring your own food.

What precautions are being taken for COVID?

We will put fewer women in sleeping quarters so they can spread out, and we will limit the number of women at tables for discussion time. Masks will only be required in the dining hall unless you are seated. Emmanuel Pines will require everyone to complete a wellness form and turn it in at check-in on Friday. In compliance with Emmanuel Pines policy, we will also take everyone’s temperature once per day.

Will we be required to wear masks?

Emmanuel Pines has asked that we wear masks when we are around people who are not from our group. This means we will need to wear masks in the dining hall unless seated at a table. We will comply with this out of love and respect for Emmanuel Pines and guests from groups other than ours. Masks will not need to be worn during sessions, while walking outside, or in our cabins.

What should I do if I get sick within 14 days of the Retreat? What if someone in my household gets sick or I have close contact with someone with COVID?

Please notify us right away by calling the church office (602.978.2740) or emailing Janice Tucker. We generally abide by Maricopa County COVID guidelines (whether you are sick or you have been exposed) and can help you assess the best way to proceed. If you need to cancel due to the sickness of you or a family member or close contact with someone who has COVID, we will gladly refund you. Your health, the health of your family, and the health of the other women going on the Retreat is important to us!
