How did the Lord save you?

I was raised in a Christian home and always gave mental assent to the facts of the gospel. However, my life did not reflect genuine faith in Jesus Christ. Although I understood the truths of Jesus’ perfect life, sacrificial death, and triumphant resurrection, I lived a life of rebellion in disobedience to God’s Word. By God’s grace, in my early twenties, God saved me. He enabled me to repent of my sins and place my faith in Jesus Christ. I now mourn over the remaining sin in my life, and strive to live obediently to God’s Word.

When did the Lord call you to pastoral ministry and how long have you been serving as a pastor?

The Lord’s call to pastoral ministry was a long process for me. After God saved me, I chose to return to school for a Christian Studies degree. My intention in doing so was simply to become a faithful believer through learning God’s Word, and applying it to my life. During this time of formal education, my love for the Lord and His people grew exponentially, and God placed a desire for pastoral ministry on my heart. In addition to having an internal call to ministry, I longed for affirmation from the leaders of my local church. They counseled me to seek further training at the seminary level, and gave me the opportunity to serve as Kids Ministry Director at NCC in October of 2016. I am humbled to serve the Lord and His people, and desire to honor Him in faithful ministry.

Describe both the training you’ve received and other formative experiences that have helped you be a more effective director?

I have an undergraduate degree in Christian Studies from Grand Canyon University, and am currently a student at The Master’s Seminary. In addition to formal education, I have been blessed to serve under the leadership of faithful men who have discipled me over the years.
